Batch Order / Clipboard

General

Objects are stored in the clipboard to copy, move, or link them with other designated objects. Additionally, batch orders for specific objects, such as distributing documents or starting a workflow, can be executed here.

Objects are copied to the clipboard via the icon .

To insert objects from the clipboard into other objects, the action is available on their property pages.

When objects are inserted into the clipboard via multi-selection, a dialog appears subsequently, which also offers you the option to switch directly to the clipboard.

Actions in the Clipboard - Batch Order

Further actions or batch orders are started directly from the clipboard. To open the clipboard and view its content, click on the icon in the action bar.

Via the icon in the action bar of the clipboard, all contained objects can be removed. Objects can, however, also be removed individually from the clipboard. The clipboard is automatically cleared when projects are opened or closed. Only objects, such as documents or CAD documents, that are allowed to be copied from one project to another remain in the clipboard.

For individual object types, various actions are available, which you can start by marking the objects to be considered and pressing the desired action icon at the bottom of the list.

For documents, the following actions are available, for example:

	Insert selected documents into the list of the Download Order
	Change attributes of selected elements
	Keywords for selected documents
	Create a new Appointment for the selected documents
	Create a new Task for the selected documents
	Create Releases
	Create a new Message
	Execute a Distribution List
	Execute a Test Order
	Execute a Workflow
	Change Status
	Delete the selected elements from the Clipboard
	Create a PDF report for the selected objects
	Create an Excel report for the selected objects
	Switches between large and small symbols
	Clears the column width settings
	Saves the column width settings
	Opens the dialog for customizing column settings.

Clipboard Sidebar

Once an object is added to the clipboard, it is also available via a sidebar on the right edge of the browser window.

Here, the inserted objects are displayed clearly and sorted into tabs based on their categories. If the sidebar is open, objects such as documents can also be easily added via Drag&Drop to the clipboard and then re-added to other objects via Drag&Drop .

The available actions within the sidebar are context-sensitive. That is, grayed-out symbols indicate that this action cannot be applied to the currently selected object. The following actions are possible:

	Insert as Copy
	Move
	Insert as Link
	Send as Email / Message
	Download the (CAD) documents compressed from PTS (Available only for (CAD) documents).
	Expand the object in the corresponding tree (available only in the context menu)

The actions can be executed both via the buttons in the action bar and via a context menu (right-click). An existing selection will be taken into account.

Note:

By default, the sidebar overlaps other elements of the window. In the personal settings this can be changed with the option Display sidebar overlapping so that the elements of the bar automatically adapt to the window.
