Managing Roles
The PlanTeam-SPACE controls the right to perform certain functions using so-called roles. Which actions a project member may or may not perform depends on the roles he is assigned. The roles also describe the responsibilities of a person in the webspace or in the project.
There are external roles (for all projects) and internal roles (project specific). The internal roles can differ from project to project for the same person. The external roles present a template for the roles the person takes on as a member of a project. Of course, they may be adapted in every project.
In the PlanTeam-SPACE it is possible to set roles for every member if you have the necessary rights. The roles can be assigned on the
properties page of the member on the right with the action
.

The following roles are available:
Administrator | The administrator has the right to configure the organisational settings. The administrator can create and remove organizations and departments. The administrator configures persons, members and their accounts in their departments and assigns the roles to each member. |
Project Manager | The role of the project manager includes setting up new projects with groups and members and the associated rights for the project documentation. The project manager always has access to all projects, without necessarily being a project member. By creating a project, the project manager is first assigned the role of project leader. After another project member has been assigned to be the project leader, the project manager can remove himself from the project. |
Project Leader | The project leader can change an existing project and declare persons to be project members. The rights of the individual project members are also assigned by the project leader. The rights of the project leader are identical to the rights of the project manager, but are limited to a specific project. The project leader always has read access to the entire documentation. |
Document Manager | The document manager is responsible for the complete documentation of a project and always has read and write access to the full documentation. He defines the documentation structure on the level of cases. All other project members are not allowed to create new cases. All templates for the project documentation are defined and applied by the document manager. |
Exchange Manager | The exchange manager is responsible for the distribution and the workflow. For each project, the exchange manager defines who will receive which drawing when and in what form. To this end, he can define new distribution templates or adapt existing templates to the project. |
Space Manager | The space manager is responsible for the FM view. He sets up new real estates and can create or import rooms for example. |
Inventory Manager | The inventory manager manages the inventory. He can create or import new inventory. |
Component Manager | The component manager creates and manages components and can import components from excel files. |
Plant Manager | The plant manager has write access to the technical facilities of the building. |
Cost Manager | The cost manager is responsible for cost management. He records and handles with costs and consumptions. |
Defect Manager | The defect manager manages the defects that are reported for different components or elements of the project. |
Incident Manager | The incident manager manages the incidents that are reported for technical installations. |
Workflow Manager | The workflow manager manages workflows and workflow templates. |
Editor | The editor is the "normal" user of the project. He can see the parts of the documentation that are cleared for him and can upload and download documents and send or distribute them. The editor can also create tasks and appointments. All administrative roles (i.e. space manager) possess all rights of the editor in addition to their own rights. |
Visitor | The visitor is only allowed to see the project structure and documentation. He may not perform any changes or additions to the project. |
